As a crane hoist supply & maintenance company in Gauteng, Sona Plant’s employees have been involved in the tower-crane and hoist industry for over 15 years. In 2017 a major supplier of construction hoist and tower cranes in the sub Saharan Market was liquidated and closed its doors, and that was when SONA PLANT was established. We took over some of the major projects, for example the LEONARDO project in Sandton.
The LEONARDO is the tallest building in Sandton at a height of 234m. We are also involved with the service and maintenance of hoists on the KUSILE power station project, and one of our major projects was our involvement in the demolishing of the BANK OF LISBON building in Johannesburg where we erected, maintained and dismantled their hoist without any downtime.
